the fantasy world in our notebook

It's been a while since I've actually done any text-based roleplaying, especially since Amino's disappearance from my life. I had a lot of experiences during that time, and I feel like those helped me become the story-loving aspiring writer that I am today.

Nowadays, when I think of roleplaying, I think of that blue notebook every single time. It all began in that one time at school where I encouraged my friends to make a notebook where I could teach them how to roleplay, which was a newfound hobby of mine at the time. At first, they seemed confused, but slowly but surely, I thought we could really form something out of it.

Just like any other roleplay, it all started with creating a character. I remembered we just described the people we wanted to be. I made my character wear glasses because I really wanted to experience wearing glasses someday (due to eye-damaging habits, I did need to get one in the future). He made his character an emo Australian because why not I guess. Lastly, she made her character 7 feet tall. Y'know, the typical fantasies we had as children.

Then, we just passed the notebook around during classes when we were bored and just wrote the entire discussion away. I would be at class, in the brink of falling asleep, just to be saved and woken up by that blue notebook that came from across the classroom. I would open it and write away, escaping into this fantasy world which acted like a pocket sanctuary for me.

I'm sort of glad that I influenced my friends as they also got to see the beauty that I saw in roleplaying. As a kid I've always wanted to be a lot of things, and when I discovered this way of writing, I immediately fell in love with it.

Unfortunately, I can barely find anyone to roleplay with anymore nowadays, and it's just not the same as it was last time. But maybe, I can translate what I've learned there to writing more stories of my own.
