being noticed (appreciation post)
Not too long ago, I applied for a manual review for my blog, and thankfully it got accepted (tysm Herman!!!) and then, it was like my blog was just open for business just like that.
Still, it took me quite a while to press that button. As someone whose social skills just deteriorated from severe isolation, just the thought of people made my spine tingle. This would mean meeting new people, and more importantly, people seeing my works. Would they like it? Would they ask me to delete my account? Would I be too mediocre for their liking? Oh man oh man the thought is killing me!
But in the end, I really wanted to socialize again. I don’t want to be a nobody anymore. And so, I have to put myself out there somehow.
So there’s my blog in the discovery feed as a product of that nauseating thought process.
And thankfully, it’s all going well so far. I honestly didn’t expect to get a viewer so soon, let alone getting a single upvote immediately after being able to be on the main page. So, thank you so much to whoever is reading this right now. I feel like I’ve just accomplished a big part of my resolution to catch up with the end of the year. Seeing those four upvotes the other day just made my day and I felt a sense of belongingness that I just haven’t felt for so long. The feeling that I have someone to talk to and I am being noticed.
That’s about it, just wanted to say thank you for everyone that has made this feeling possible for me. Being a shut-in loner hasn’t been quite easy for me as you can tell wwww. I haven’t smiled this much in a long time, honestly.
So yeah, I guess I’ll just try my best later on to write some higher quality stuff next time… wwww
